LoopyBoopy

LoopyBoopy creates some of the coolest characters I have ever seen. I have been intrigued with LoopyBoopy's work since the first time I came across her shop. The great city of New Orleans is one the primary inspirations in the creation of LoopyBoopy's art dolls. And having 500+ sales on Etsy shows LoopyBoopy is a very successful Etsian.

As these art dolls need to be seen, let's go ahead and take a look at my favorite from the boudoir collection.

Boudoir Girl Ruth is a poseable doll measuring approximately 12" tall. Ruth is hand sculpted and painted in pastels and acrylics. Ruth's clothes are all handmade from vintage fabrics and lace. Glass eyes and wool hair are the finishing touches to Ruth's incredible design.

LoopyBoopy is currently working on completing more art dolls to post in her Etsy shop. To see more of LoopyBoopy's work, click here to view the art dolls that have been sold.

StarShineGallery

I have always enjoyed cartoons and at one point in my life had hoped of making my own animations. StarShineGallery is a great Etsy shop with some very fun items available that remind me of classic animation characters.

With it being the Christmas season and this Kringle Ornament being one of my favorites in the StarShineGallery Etsy shop, let's start there.
The whimsical design of this piece just makes me smile looking at it! I really enjoy everything about this character that StarShineGallery has created here and can easily picture this character coming to life.

The Kringle ornament has been hand sculpted in terra cotta clay, kiln fired, and hand decorated in acrylic paint. He sparkles with micro glitter on his beard, moustache and hat and measures 5 inches long.

For additional information on the Kringle ornament, click here.

Another favorite of mine at StarShineGallery is this ornament duo titled Pair of Watt-Nots. These two fellows would be the required comic relief characters in any Christmas themed story that would evolve on your Christmas tree!

This pair of unique ornaments have been hand sculpted in clay, kiln fired, and hand decorated in acrylic paint. These whimsical ornaments measure 2 1/8" long.

AnnabelsAprons

One of my all time favorite Etsians is AnnabelsAprons. Aside from being a very talented lady when it comes to fabric and a sewing machine, she's got a very fun personality! Let's talk talent though...

I'll be honest, there are not many episodes of Project Runway that I have missed. Yes I am a man, but I really do like this show. I find the level of detail needed to create these stunning garments to be very similar to my own woodworking - but that's a converstation for another time! The work that goes into making a spectacular dress is really incredible!

Speaking of spectacular dresses let's take a look at one of the sun dresses available in AnnabelsAprons Esty shop.

The Sweet Batik Sundress is one of my favorite items in AnnabelsAprons shop and personally I think it's a great example of how good her work is. The dress fits in all the right places and with Annabel's ability to customize the size and fabric to your choice makes this dress a no brainer!

The example in the photo is a size 12 and is made with a candy apple green batik with purple flowers on it. For more details on the Sweet Batik Sundress, click here.

I can wait here for you here if you would like to go place your order before I move on to the next piece... it's ok, I don't mind.

Considering that her shop is called AnnabelsAprons, let's go ahead and take a look at what Annable has to offer in the aprons department.

Among others, AnnablesAprons offers this great Chef's Apron. The Chef's Apron is a full sized apron, with a long continuous tie that goes through the apron to adjust for size, and still have enough to wrap around waist in front. By folding the top inside, the Chef's Apron may also be worn as a half apron.

The Chef's Apron is a made to order piece and due to fabric availability may not be available in the exact fabrics shown here. With your input on color scheme and style of fabric, Annabel will in no doubt create you a fabulous Chef's Apron to call your own.

ModMomFurniture

It was through Lumberjocks that I met the very talented Kiersten who runs her home business ModMomFurniture in sunny California. ModMomFurniture specializes in the creation of some wonderfully designed eco-friendly modern furniture for children. As my first introduction to Etsy was through Kiersten and her ModMomFurniture store, it only seems fitting that ModMomFurniture be the inaugural posting for An Etsy Favorite.

My favorite piece from the ModMomFurniture store is the Noah Owl Box. This 17" wide x 18" deep x 15 1/2" tall storage box with the removable owl lid pearched on top of the hand cut veneer branch would be adorable in any child's bedroom.

ModMomFurniture prides her furniture design and construction in the use of eco-friendly Baltic Birch ply-wood, no-voc paints and low-voc polyurethane.

An Introduction

I would like to take a minute to introduce you to a new blog series dedicated to the great work available at Etsy. An Etsy Favorite is a series that will focus on different Etsy stores that I find particularly interesting. I will also include an example or two of what it is about the store that I find so intriguing.

I'd like to point out that I am recieving no sort of commission or other form of benefit from the stores that I will be showcasing. The sole purpose of this new series is to simply show off the very talented people that I have found since I started my own Etsy store.
If you have not heard of Etsy or have not taken the time to look around at what is offered there, I highly recommend that you do. If you aren't sure where to begin, you can use my Etsy store as a starting place!
